IUEC Local 18 Primary Mark

IUEC Local 18

Challenge

The IUEC (International Union of Elevator Constructors) Local 18 chapter has served customers throughout Southern California and Nevada since 1905. Despite its significant history, the union lacked a brand identity. As such, it needed to stand as a symbol for all union members, spanning a territory of three major cities.

Solution

Since the primary application of the brand would be with union craftsmen, the identity was built from elevator parts. Iconic to the industry, wire rope and elevator wedge shackles were used to frame the typography.
